- Responding to objections and Preliminary Assessment & Response Mechanism (PARM).

- Show Cause Hearing – preparation, common objections, and Registrar’s role.
Session 2: Trademark Opposition & Post-Registration Procedures
- Trademark opposition – who can oppose and on what grounds?
- Opposition filing (TM-O) and response through counterstatement (TM-R).
- Importance of evidence in opposition cases.
- Case study analysis of trademark opposition cases.
- Trademark registration certificate issuance and legal rights.
- Renewal and maintenance of trademarks (validity, process, and fees).
- Rectification and cancellation – when and how it applies.

Session 3: Madrid Protocol & Well-Known Trademarks
- Overview of the Madrid Protocol and international trademark filing benefits.
- Filing requirements and process for Madrid applications (TM-MM).
- Designating countries and understanding territorial protection.
- Examination and objections in different jurisdictions.
- Renewal and modifications of Madrid trademarks.
